In France, the last restrictions in the fight against the corona virus were lifted on Wednesday. There are no more barriers to the number of visitors in cinemas, restaurants and shops. Although the delta variant of the coronavirus is also causing concern among our southern neighbors.

Concerts with a standing audience are again possible, but with a maximum capacity of 75 percent if they take place indoors. For all events with more than a thousand participants, the digital corona certificate will have to be presented, which shows that someone has been fully vaccinated or has passed a negative PCR test.
The relaxation train in France started on May 19, when the terraces of bars and restaurants, among other things, reopened. On June 9, bars and restaurants also reopened indoors, and curfews were lifted on June 20. The corona figures therefore went in the right direction, although the daily number of infections has been stagnating around 1,800 for a few days.
Deltavariant
The delta variant, formerly known as the Indian variant of the coronavirus, is also on the rise among our southern neighbors. The much more contagious variant already accounts for 20 percent of new diagnoses, a doubling compared to last week. In the southwestern department of Landes, where the delta variant first appeared in France, the latest corona restrictions will be maintained until July 6.
The French government is fully committed to the vaccination campaign, even if its pace seems to be slowing down somewhat.
