The two superstars Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi can probably play for Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against FC Bayern Munich. The two most recently injured offensive artists were on the pitch with the rest of the team on Monday morning in the final training session. The broadcaster PSG-TV showed the first 15 minutes of the session in the stream. Mbappé and Messi warmed up in a good mood with their colleagues, everyone played a few rounds of the popular game “Rondo”. On Tuesday (9 p.m./Amazon Prime Video) the eagerly awaited first leg in the premier class between Paris and Bayern takes place in the Prinzenpark.

If Mbappé and Messi actually get fit in time, the French series champion could have the top line-up in attack. Mbappé is apparently no longer slowed down by a thigh injury sustained almost two weeks ago. World champion Messi appears to have recovered from the injury suffered in Marseille in last Wednesday’s Cup exit. Brazilian Neymar is fit anyway, although like his team-mates he underperformed in Saturday’s 3-1 loss at AS Monaco.
PSG coach Christophe Galtier, who has come under pressure, may also decide to at least let Mbappé play in the Champions League again in the second leg in Munich on March 8th. Because of the muscle injury suffered at the beginning of the month, Galtier emphasized that he wanted to take “zero, zero risk” with the attacker. Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann had recently suspected a poker game by the top French club because of the World Cup top scorer. “I don’t think he’s going to fail,” Nagelsmann said.
