In mid-October, Miroslav Žbirek became overwhelmed and ended up with drips. When he celebrated his 69th birthday on October 21, he was released from the hospital. This is probably where one of his last photos was taken.
Miro Žbirka had to go to the hospital in mid-October. He betrayed his health and ended up on drips. But on October 21, he was released home so he could celebrate his 69th birthday with his loved ones.
“Birthday dropout and goodies from the fans,” the singer added to the probably last photo before he exhaled for the last time this Wednesday.
Recurrent pneumonia has been fatal to him. Despite his health problems, he was far from retiring, and according to TV Nova, he wanted to sell out Prague’s O2 arena again next year. Unfortunately, his last dream will no longer come true.
Žbirka was born on October 21, 1952 in Bratislava. His father was Slovak, his mother English. He was twice married. He has a daughter Denisa with his first wife Helga Žbirková. He married for the second time in 1988. He and his second wife, Kateřina, raised a daughter, Linda, and a son, David, and settled in Prague.
Žbirka’s most famous hits include White Flower, Atlantis, 22 Days, What Hurts, It Hurts, In Dead Ends, The First or The Ballad of the Wild Birds.
