After the 5th Penal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals approved the acquittals of 5 defendants, including former Fenerbahce President Aziz Yıldırım, in the ‘Football match-fixing case’, the yellow-dark blue administration applied to the Turkish Football Federation for the 2011 super cup final to be played. Beşiktaş club also wants the super cup final to be played. President Ahmet Nur Cebi welcomed Fenerbahce’s request. After this process between the two clubs, the eyes were turned to the Turkish football federation.
“I WILL VOTE THIS WAY”
Speaking to Habertürk TV on the subject, Turkish football federation president Nihat Özdemir also wants the final to be played. Özdemir said, “Our two big clubs came to us with such a request. We will consider the matter in the board of directors. I am also a supporter of playing the super cup final in 2011. I will use my vote in this direction at the board meeting,” he said. The TFF administration will evaluate this request at its meeting next week.
Meanwhile, it is on the agenda that the 2011 super cup final will be played in the newly opened Alsancak Mustafa Denizli stadium in İzmir. TFF management will announce its decision in a short time.
