Last minute shopping? Some stores will not open on December 24th!

Lidl, for example, will close its stores on Christmas Day. “We do so with regard to our employees, whom we would like to thank with this step for their extraordinary work commitment in this demanding year,” confirmed the company’s spokesman Tomáš Myler. On Wednesday, customers have the last chance to shop in these stores before Christmas. With some exceptions, the opening hours are extended until 10 pm.

Penny stores will not open on December 24 either. On Wednesday, they will remain open two hours longer than normal opening hours. “We feel that the most valuable thing we can give our people is time with their loved ones. That’s why all our stores will remain closed on Christmas Day,” said Mathias Mentrop, CEO.

The other large retail chains, on the other hand, decided to open on Christmas Day. You can replenish stocks, for example, in Tesco chain stores, which will be available to your customers until 11 am. Globus has also decided to open its branches by 11:30.

It will also be possible to visit Kaufland stores until 11:45. The onslaught of customers is also trying to dispel the longer opening hours before Christmas. “In order to ensure maximum shopping comfort for our customers, the opening hours will be extended to 11 pm in all Kaufland stores on 23 December,” said Renata Maierl, Head of Corporate Communications at Kaufland.

We will not buy in any large store in the next two holidays. The stores can only reopen on Sunday, December 27.

On the last day of the year, they plan to open all large stores for at least part of the day. To celebrate the new year, we will be able to shop until 5 pm, somewhere until 6 pm. The next day it will be closed by law in large stores. From the second of January, the stores will be open again according to the normal opening hours in accordance with the applicable anti-epidemic measures under the PES system.
