Exciting frame from James Webb!

According to the news on NASA’s website, the James Webb Space Telescope completed the alignment phase known as “fine staging” on March 11.

With the work, each mirror of the telescope, which consists of 18 hexagonal beryllium mirror pieces, is aligned for the first time and focused on a star.

The star, named “2MASS J17554042+6551277”, was photographed with a near infrared camera (NIRCam).

THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS IN THE PHOTO EXPERIMENT

No measurable contamination or blockage problems were found in the photographic experiment to measure the functionality of the telescope’s optical parameters.

With this experiment, scientists revealed that the telescope can successfully collect light from objects in space and transmit this light to their devices without any problems.

IT WILL REPLACE HUBBLE

NASA launched the world’s largest and most advanced space telescope, James Webb, into space on December 25, 2021.

The product of NASA’s collaboration with the European and Canadian space agencies, Webb is seen as the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, which is the largest and most powerful yet 31 years old and nearing the end of its working life.
