A community funeral will be held today for 15 of the victims who died in the raging fire in the Bronx.
In all, 17 people, including eight children, died in the disaster.
The services will be held at the Islamic Cultural Center of that same county.
The Mayor and Attorney General are among the many officials who will attend the funeral service.
Also, a large crowd is expected as many people want to pay their respects to the victims.
Yesterday tents were set up outside the center and the police have closed several roads.
Medical examiners say all the victims died of smoke inhalation.
Investigators explain that the fire was caused by a malfunctioning electric heater in one of the apartments.
A funeral was held Wednesday at a mosque in Harlem for two of the victims, a pair of brothers who were 5 and 12 years old.
His family is from Mali, West Africa.
The other 15 victims are of Gambian descent.
