Climate activists from the “Last Generation” have disrupted operations at several airports with protests. In Cologne/Bonn, Berlin and Nuremberg, air traffic was temporarily interrupted in the morning. There were also protests at Stuttgart Airport.

Flight operations in Cologne/Bonn resumed in the morning. However, delays may still occur, the airport said. Unauthorized persons had previously gained access to the airside area, a spokesman said. Two people had stuck themselves in an area leading to the runway. A hole was discovered in the fence leading to the outside area.

According to police and airport information, flight operations in Nuremberg were also temporarily suspended – but have been running again since 7 a.m., according to the airport’s website. Reporters also reported a hole in the fence in the southern area of ​​the runway. Two bolt cutters were lying nearby. Police and firefighters are deployed in the area.

Berlin-Brandenburg Airport was also affected. According to the Brandenburg State Police, two people aged 21 and 22 had glued themselves to the airport. They were released shortly afterwards and taken into custody.

The police are now investigating for damage to the fence, trespassing and violation of the Aviation Security Act. Both are known to the police “from similar offenses.” Flight operations were temporarily interrupted, but according to the Federal Police they resumed shortly before 7 a.m.

In Stuttgart, two activists glued themselves to an access road to the runway. Air traffic was not affected, said a spokesman.
