Slovak head of state Zuzana Čaputová will also take part in Friday’s last farewell to the late singer Miroslav “Meka” Žbirka († 69) in the Strašnice crematorium. This was confirmed by the presidential office. “He was and always will remain a legend,” she said at the expense of the famous singer. The Czech president will visit the Czech Republic for the second time in a single week.
The last farewell to the Czechoslovak legend Miroslav Žbirka will take place on Friday 19 November in the Strašnice crematorium in Prague from 2 pm and Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová will also take part in it as a guest of honor.
On the day of the death of the famous Slovak singer, she placed a touching memory on social networks. “Sweater, typical glasses and a smile. I always had the feeling that he would not age at all. We all know the lyrics of his songs by heart. He loved music, Slovak, London and the Beatles. Miroslav Zbirka was and will remain a legend,” she wrote. She added that he created dozens of hits that are known throughout the Czechia and Slovakia. “Miro Žbirka has never been a fashionable boy, singing about it in one of his songs. Our memories will forever be connected with him. Thank you, Mecca,” the president added.

The public will be able to say goodbye to the author of the well-known hits in front of the ceremonial hall, where a condolence book will also be placed. According to Frequency 1, the Czech President Miloš Zeman, who is still hospitalized, will send a wreath at the last farewell to Žbirka.

Meky Žbirka died in his sleep on November 10 at the hospital. He was 69 years old. He has been struggling with health problems for a long time. He was hospitalized a month ago and received infusions. He has recently struggled with recurrent pneumonia. He still had many dreams and plans.
