Next Monday, October 16 at 8:00 p.m., is the final deadline to send the short stories created to the Biobío in 100 Words contest.
This year the First Place winner will receive $1,000,000; each honorable mention, $250,000; the Senior Talent Award $250,000 (from 65 years old); the Young Talent Award $250,000 (between 13 and 18 years old); the Prize for the Best Story in Mapudungun $250,000, the Prize for the Best Memory Story $250,000 and the Prize for Children’s Talent a library equivalent to $250,000 (up to 12 years).

On the other hand, a few days before the closing of the XII edition of Biobío in 100 Words presented by Fundación Plagio and CMPC, the contest announces its latest activities.
This is a book exchange that will take place in two cities in the region: the Plaza de Armas in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the Plaza Perú in Concepción on the 14th of October. October from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Furthermore, to promote writing in these last days of the call, the book of the 10 years of the contest in the region will be exchanged to each person who brings 5 stories to any of the exchanges in both cities.
The call for this version was opened in July and since then various activities have been carried out in order to encourage the writing of short stories.
Some of them were meetings with prominent figures from the region, such as Mauricio Durán from Los Bunkers and the Penquista illustrator, Catalina Bu. Both artists gave a keynote talk open to the public.
From the perspective of education, 100 free creative writing workshops were held in schools throughout the region, −10% more than the previous year−, whose students learned to write a short story through the Creando methodology. in 100 Words.
In its previous versions, Biobío in 100 Words, has received short stories that have its regional landscapes as protagonists: the streets of Concepción, the Ecuador Park, the Puchacay micro, the Benavides cavern in Lebu and the coal mines of Lota, written by the most diverse people from 5 to 89 years old.
