Last days of amnesty for delivery of books at the Débora Arango Library – Envigado Informa

  • More than 800 borrowed books have not returned home, so that they can continue to be used by other library users.
  • People will be able to return them without any penalty or suspension of new loans, until May 28.

The Débora Arango Public Library and Cultural Park offers amnesty, until May 28, to users who have books and other bibliographic materials with an expired return date, regardless of whether months or years have passed. With this, the institution seeks to recover more than 800 copies that have not been returned, even since 2017.

These books that have not been returned are added to a collection of approximately 28,000 titles that the Library makes available to the community for free, including novels, comics, universal literature, children’s literature and fiction.

Alba Dolly Mazo Jaramillo, general director of the Débora Arango Public Library and Cultural Park, explains that the books that are outside must return to where they belong and that people who return them in May will not be sanctioned, on the contrary, they will be able to access immediately to new titles and learn about new acquisitions.

As a public library, any citizen can access loans by simply registering at its facilities, in this way, the user can have up to seven materials for a period of 15 days with the possibility of renewal for an equal period. After this time, you must return.

The sanction in Debora is done on time, for each day of delay, users get two days of penalty, in this way, people who have materials from previous years, have a great benefit by not being sanctioned. For more information, the line (604) 339 40 00 extensions 4812 and 4813 is enabled.

The alliance between Comfenalco Antioquia and the Secretary of Culture of Envigado make possible one of the most important library projects in the Aburrá Valley, the Débora Arango Library, which has been awarded prizes such as Daniel Samper Ortega, for its resilience during the time of the pandemic and confinement; and which is currently positioned as a benchmark in this field.
