During Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16, the Ministry of Health, through Zonal 7 coordination, in the province of Loja proceeded to immunize children against measles, rubella, and poliomyelitis free of charge. In the canton of Loja, the brigades were active from 08:00 to 17:00 without interruption.

On Saturday the 15th, the brigades were at the Reina del Cisne Bus Terminal and at the La Tebaida Market-and at Supermaxi. While on Sunday at the Reina del Cisne Bus Terminal, La Tebaida Linear Park, Free Fair (La Banda sector), Wholesale Market and Jipiro Park, in the latter place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
While from Monday 17 to Friday 21 from 08:00 to 16:00 they will be vaccinating at the Health Centers of: La Guangora, Pichig, San Lucas, Taquil, Gualel, El Cisne, Malacatos, Vilcabamba, Yangana, Chuquiribamba, among others. others from rural neighborhoods and parishes. This vaccination day extends to July 30 at the level of all Health Centers, and is intended for children from 1 to 12 years of age.

In the province there are more than 82 thousand minors vaccinated until the end of the previous month. In Zone 7, which corresponds to Loja, Zamora Chinchipe and El Oro, the figure exceeds 240 thousand children and children immunized against diseases: measles, rubella and poliomyelitis. The vaccination day started on May 2 and was extended to July 9, however, the Ministry extended the deadline until the end of the month to cover a larger number.
In this time of extension, they are working with medical brigades in the 282 first-level units, which are made up of general practitioners, family doctors, nurses and Primary Health Care Technicians (TAPs), in rural areas. They have given priority to the places with the highest concentration such as: markets, shopping centers, bus terminals, parks.
Vaccines
According to the scheme established in the campaign, children will be able to access vaccination according to age, that is, from 1 to 7 years of age, a dose of the oral bivalent vaccine against poliomyelitis (bOPV); 6 and 7 years old one dose of the injectable vaccine against polio (fIPV); and, from 2 to 12 years, one dose of the measles and rubella (MR) vaccine.
