Last day of the autumn holidays: – Long queues on Sunday

On Sunday evening, traffic has picked up, especially on the E6 in the direction of Oslo.

– We have noticed that there has been quite a large driveway today, and several have been out on the roads, says traffic operator in the Public Roads Administration, Mari Aarrestad, to Dagbladet.

She says that this is connected with more people going home from autumn holidays this Sunday.

At 20.30 there is still a queue on the E6 at Kolomoen in Stange municipality. This is due to road work.

There is also a queue from Jessheim and towards Skedsmokorset in Lillestrøm.

– In addition to the regular traffic on the E16 from Hønefoss towards Sandvika, Aarrestad says.

At 19.19, an hour delay was reported on the E16 between Hønefoss and Sandvika.

The rail tunnel was closed

Just after 5 pm on Sunday, a car collided with a sign inside the Ræling tunnel.

The tunnel was therefore closed for a short period in one field in the direction of Oslo.

Shortly afterwards, at around 6 pm, there was a traffic accident on Strandbygdvegen in Elverum. The road was closed for a period, and a detour was signposted via national road 3.

– There is still a bit of a queue on national road 3 from Elverum and onto the E6 at Stange, because people have been to the cabin, among other things, the traffic operator says.

Autumn holiday 2021

Even though Agder, Oslo, Viken, Nordland and Troms and Finnmark have now finished this year’s autumn holiday, the autumn holiday will start for the rest of the country.

Both Innlandet, Møre og Romsdal, Rogaland, Trøndelag, Vestland and Vestfold and Telemark will start their autumn holidays on Monday 11 October.

Then it is perhaps not so strange that there will be many cars on the road just this Sunday.

On the E18 in Tønsberg, there is still heavy traffic at 20.24. Vegtrafikksentralen nevertheless reports short delays.

Dog had to be killed

Earlier in the day, a car drove into a mountain on Feiringvegen by Lake Mjøsa, and there was some traffic routing past the place before the car was salvaged.

The driver was driven to AHUS because he had to be checked for high-speed damage.

– There was a dog in the car that unfortunately had to be killed due to the injuries, the police in the East write on Twitter.

The dog was not in a dog cage, which is highly recommended to prevent accidents.
