British pop singer and drummer Phil Collins (71) gave his last concert in London. He plays with Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, his Genesis counterparts.
The exhausted musician spent the whole concert sitting on a chair. Saying goodbye to the audience was emotional, but also fun – at one point he joked that “after retiring from music, he will have to look for another job.”
The concert took place as part of the “The Last Domino?” Tour, which took place after a 14-year break.
Genesis was founded in 1967 and gained worldwide fame in the 1970s. But Collins also had an enviable solo career in the 1980s and 1990s. Some of his most famous hits are “In the Air Tonight”, “One More Night” and “Another Day in Paradise”.
The singer’s physical anguish dates back to 2009, when he unhappily crushed his vertebrae. Subsequent operations did not improve the situation, but caused nerve damage. On top of that, the musician also had problems with diabetes and falls, in which he injured his head in 2017.
