Last Audi R8 Performance Quattro Edition with Carbon-Aero Equipment Rolls off Assembly Line, Ending 18-Year Production Run

The last copy of the R8 has rolled off the assembly line of the Audi factory in Neckarsulm, Germany – in the Performance Quattro Edition coupe version with the Carbon-Aero equipment package and 20-inch wheels.

The last R8 was supposed to leave the factory gates already in November 2023, but fans of the model got excited and after the announcement of the end of production, flooded Audi with orders, which made it possible to close last year with a not bad result – 1,591 cars produced.

Despite the last-minute hype, the R8 remained the least demanded Audi model, so the outcome is natural – the end of production after 18 years on the assembly line. The most productive year for this model was 2008, when 5016 copies were released.

Along with the Audi R8, Volkswagen’s 5.2-liter V10 engine goes down in history. It is still available for a certain time for the related Lamborghini Huracan, but not longer than this year, but while the fans of Italian technology clearly know that the Huracan will be the continuation of the family, fans of the sporty Audi model have no such consolation – the management has mentioned a possible successor in the form of a fully electric model. however, specific deadlines are unknown.
