A man stepped onto the apron at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. There he climbed onto the wing of an Alaska Air Boeing 737.
The pilots of flight AS1367 to Portland were busy preparing for take-off on Saturday (December 12th). Then they noticed a man running towards the plane. They reported their observation to the controllers in the control tower of McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. These let the police move out.
The man had now climbed onto the wing of the Alaska Air Boeing 737-900. He sat down there first, ran back and forth, and then tried several times to climb the winglet. When he couldn’t at first, he took off his shoes to climb up. During the last attempt, however, it fell from the wing onto the apron.
Mental Disorder or Drugs?
There the man was arrested and taken to a hospital. Apparently he had climbed over the airport fence before climbing the Boeing 737 to get to the apron. The police suspect drugs or alcohol or a mental disorder as the motive.
