Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will expand the taxi fleet to a third from May 11
The City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will expand, starting next Monday, May 11, the taxi service to a third of the fleet.
This measure has been agreed between the City Council’s Mobility Department and the Taxi Table, who see the need to increase the fleet due to the de-escalation of the confinement.
In this regard, three shifts of 547 taxis will be established for the 1,640 municipal licenses, in order to guarantee the optimal functioning of the service.
It should be remembered that the City Council reduced the service to 20% on April 27 through a municipal resolution signed by the mayor and in compliance with Royal Decree 463/2020, which declares the state of alarm.

The Department of Mobility recalls the need for all license holders to be located in the regular pre-established shifts in case their intervention is required due to emergencies arising from the health crisis situation.
