Sweden – Lark Vilks, a Swedish cartoonist who sketched the Prophet Muhammad, died in a traffic accident on Sunday (3/10).
As quoted from the BBC, the vehicle Vilks was traveling in and escorted by civilian police collided with a truck near the town of Markaryd in southern Sweden.
In addition to Vilks, two police officers were also killed. The truck driver was rushed to the hospital.
Vilks, 75, lives under police protection after being the target of death threats for his cartoons.
The cartoon published in 2007 has offended many Muslims who regard the visual representation of the Prophet Muhammad as blasphemous.
