Belgian developer Larian Studios recommends that players of Baldur’s Gate III on Xbox Series X and S manually install the latest firmware update for the consoles. This should fix an issue with save files disappearing.
“We are aware of save files disappearing after game crashes,” writes the studio on social media. “An update is available from Xbox that should resolve this issue. Please install this update from the Xbox system menu.” Larian Studios also released a ‘stability update’, although it is not known whether this update affects the problem in question.
Among other on Reddit gamers reported in recent days that save files from Baldur’s Gate III on Xbox Series X and S could disappear, in most cases after the game crashed. On the day of the game’s release for Xbox Series consoles, Xbox released a firmware-update out, but does not mention in detail what exactly the update does.
Xbox players, we’ve pushed a small update to Baldur’s Gate 3 containing stability fixes.
We’re aware of the issue of saves disappearing after a crash. An update is available from Xbox to help with some of these issues, please manually update your Xbox through the system menu.
