Since Larian Studios is no longer working on the Baldur’s Gate license and is currently developing two RPGs of its own, many fans are afraid that the studio will reduce the number of its games.
In conversation with PC game CEO Swen Vincke said that this will not happen and that Larian will continue to focus on large projects. “The device was built to make great games. We’re built to make big, ambitious RPGs and explore new things,” he said.
According to the CEO, the team already knows what the game will be like and they are expecting big things. “We really know what we want from our gaming systems, how to improve them, how to do something new… And all this is very important,” he said.
Unfortunately, Sven did not provide any information about Larian’s new projects. However, when asked about the possibility of the studio leaving fantasy behind and working on a game in a different genre, such as science fiction, he did not rule out the possibility.
“Of course, yes. There are many things I would like to do,” said the CEO when asked about the possibility of developing a game outside of the fantasy genre.
