KOMPAS.com – A good greatest relic World War II artificial English exploded underwater on Poland when trying to tame.
Good exploded when tamed by a team of specialists bomb tamer Navy Poland in the Baltic Waters ABC News, Wednesday (14/10/2020).
The team initially tried to neutralize the bomb by using the long-range deflagration method, which was to burn the explosives without triggering an explosion.
But accidentally, the bomb exploded during the deflagration process. The bomb, named Tallboy, has apparently been found since September 2019.

The bomb was found underwater heading for the port of Szczecin, Poland, when there was a project to deepen the area.
The bomb weighed nearly 5.4 tons with 2.4 tons of explosives.

Before being tamed, as many as 750 people have been evacuated in advance from the area that was used as a busy port for Nazi Germany during World War II.
Polish Navy spokesman, Second Lieutenant Grzegorz Lewandowski, said all divers were within a safe distance from the explosion.

The explosion from the bomb was also felt by local residents but did not cause any injuries.
“The operation was carried out perfectly and safely. And the bomb is now safe,” Lewandowski said, according to the news agency PAP.
“The deflagration process turned into an explosion. These objects can already be considered neutralized, will not pose a threat anymore. All mine divers are outside the danger zone, “continued Lewandowski.
He noted the bomb disposal operation was the largest operation ever in Poland.

This is because the bombs, missiles and grenades that were previously discovered did not explode.
The bomb was designed by British aeronautical engineer Barnes Wallis and later dropped by air Force Britain (RAF) in 1945 in an attack on the German cruiser Lutzow.
Such bombs were used by the RAF to destroy large assets controlled by the Nazis via explosions from below.
Experts do not know why the bomb failed to explode when dropped by the RAF.
