Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, operated by international airline Emirates, will serve routes to Bali from 1 June 2023. This marks a milestone in Indonesian aviation history as the first scheduled A380 service to the country.

The new Emirates A380 service will replace one of the two daily services to Bali currently operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The debut airline A380 EK368, will depart from Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 03:25, and arrive at Denpasar International Airport (DPS) at 16:35 local time.

The return flight, EK369, will depart Bali at 19:40, arriving in Dubai at 00:45 local time. All times are local.

“We have worked closely with our partners at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to ensure the smooth and seamless operation of our A380,” said Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, in a written statement received by CNBC Indonesia, Saturday (25 /3/2023).

Main Director of PT. Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi, said that the scheduled operation of the Airbus A380 in Indonesia would be a historic moment for Indonesian flights and Angkasa Pura I.

“We hope that the operation of the A380 in Indonesia, especially Bali, will have an increasingly positive impact on the tourism and economic sectors, as well as open up opportunities for cooperation and investment in other industrial sectors in Indonesia.”

Emirates launched non-stop daily flights from Dubai to Bali in 2015. Previously, Emirates also had scheduled flights to Jakarta which were first launched in 1992.

Emirates has so far operated more than 49,000 flights and carried more than 9 million passengers to and from Indonesia and Dubai. The airline currently serves 28 weekly flights to Bali and Jakarta.
