Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – In Indonesia, it appears that there are 5 banks with the largest assets. The largest was owned by PT Bank Mandiri as of September 2022 with IDR 1.839.3 trillion, up 12.3% year on year.
In second place is PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia or BRI. Its assets reach IDR 1,684.6 trillion, up 4% year on year.
Next up is BCA which recorded a 10.2% YoY increase with an asset value of IDR 1,288.7 trillion. In fourth and fifth position are BNI and BTN with assets of IDR 946.49 trillion and IDR 389.2 trillion respectively.
The two banks also recorded year-on-year growth. PT Bank Negara Indonesia by 2.6% yoy and 5.77% yoy at PT Bank State Savings.
Meanwhile, the Financial Services Authority noted that the country’s banking business is still healthy and strong. The institute even revealed that banking activities had increased.
However, the assets were found to be controlled by only a handful of banks. Out of the 107 banks in the country, there are 12 major banks with total assets reaching IDR 7,726.74 trillion by the end of September 2022.
Total assets increased from last year which amounted to IDR 7,251.04 trillion or increased by 6.5%.
