C3-Verein and Tudalit merge in Dresden

Dresden, March 15, 2021. According to the company, the world’s largest industrial and research association for carbon concrete is created in Dresden through the merger of “C³ – Carbon Concrete Composite e. V. “and the”Tudalit e. В.“. The general meetings of both associations have now decided, announced the C³.

Partners now want to market carbon concrete more internationally

“With the merger, the financial resources of both clubs can not only be brought together, but also increased,” commented C³ managing director Frank Schladitz. “At the same time, however, our C³ research association, which had previously been responsible for coordinating the C³ research project, has the opportunity to apply for comprehensive funding and to advance carbon concrete construction through the change to an industrial and research association.” This also applies now for countries outside the German-speaking area.

About Tudalit

The Tudalit Association emerged in 2009 from the textile concrete collaborative research centers of the TU Dresden and RWTH Aachen. Around 40 partners from the construction industry have been organized there so far.

About C³

The C³-Verein was created in 2014 from the carbon concrete developments of the TU Dresden. It now includes almost 150 partners. Carbon concrete is a promising lightweight construction material that should enable significant material savings, more durable houses and bridges, new architectural designs and renovations of old buildings that were previously barely feasible. In this building material, carbon fiber nets take on the role of steel in reinforced concrete.
