In Canada, protests by truck drivers began a week ago when a ban on unvaccinated truck drivers from Canada came into force in the United States. It was the US response to the Canadian government’s decision not to allow unvaccinated truck drivers from a neighboring country.
The truck column could reach the Canadian parliamentary district in Ottawa today, where drivers will be joined by their supporters. Among them are extremists who have called for the occupation of the parliament building, similar to the US Capitol on January 6 last year.
Police have warned protesters of the serious consequences if they act violently or call for the government to be overthrown.
