This area is evaluated as the best location for corporate data centers to achieve 100% renewable energy (RE100) with abundant renewable energy and a relatively spare power system.
On the 24th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy signed a business agreement with Jeollanam-do, Haenam-gun, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Jeonnam Development Corporation and 7 investment companies to promote the data center park construction project in Solaseido, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, at the Haenam Solar City Promotion Hall.
At the signing ceremony of this business agreement, Jeollanam-do and Jeonnam Development Corporation decided to support renewable energy to be supplied to the data center, and seven investment companies created a data center integration complex in Solaseido, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, and built 25 data centers with a capacity of 40MW. plans to be phased in by 2037.
Lee Ho-hyeon, Electric Power Policy Officer, who attended the agreement ceremony, said, “We welcome the investment in the Solaseado Data Center Park construction project.” We will not spare any policy support, including administrative support.”
