The Residential Protest will take place in the Westerpark this afternoon. The organization expects tens of thousands of demonstrators, who will walk from the Westerpark towards Dam Square.

The organization of the Housing Protest fights for sufficient and affordable housing and a better grip on rent and house prices. According to the people behind the protest, more money should come from the government for building and refurbishing affordable housing.
“We are going to fight for our right of residence, because we have seen that the housing crisis is so immense and costs more victims every day,” co-organizer Melissa Koutouzis previously told AT5/NH News. “For example, young people hardly manage to find a home for sale anymore because of the absurdly high prices, rents in the free sector often only start at around 1250 euros and the number of homes in the social sector has been declining steadily for years.”
Westerpark
The demonstration starts at 2 p.m. in the Westerpark. From there, the procession heads towards Dam Square, which was actually the original location. Due to the dismantling of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, there would not be enough space on Dam Square to set up stages for the protest.
Saturday also started the Unmute Us protest in the Westerpark for the reopening of the event industry. According to the organization, there were 80,000 people present in the city, but the municipality says the number was around 35,000.
The Housing protest is live in follow on AT5.
