The plant north of Rogaland, near Haugesund, plays a decisive role in the transportation and processing of gas and light oil from the continental shelf areas.

– We all know that this is a structure of particular interest. We are therefore campaigning with police on both sides of the Boknafjorden, says Operations Director Victor Fenne-Jensen in the Sørvest Police District to Stavanger Aftenblad.

Police are said to have received a report on the incident on Thursday at 9:30 pm and walked away armed.

Tipsters VG spoke to the reporter from the large police force in the area.

LARGE: The Kårstø processing plant in the municipality of Tysvær in Rogaland is the largest of its kind in Europe.

It does not exclude foreign powers

Police tell the newspaper that both private individuals and foreign powers can be behind a drone flight and explain that this is why they are armed.

– We are still in the relevant area with a number of resources to try to verify this observation, he continues to tell TV 2.

Law enforcement officials do not want to disclose what measures they have taken, but confirm that substantial resources are in place.

Vehicles are checked in the area. No drones were hijacked and no arrests were made. The police continue to work with the investigation.

From Nord Stream cables have been damaged there has been increased security in this and other facilities, among other things the National Guard assisted the police.

This is not the first time this has happened drones have been observed in critical infrastructures recently in Norway.
