There has been a large mudslide at Bodø. National highway 80 at Kleivberget in Valnesfjord is closed, The police advise against all traffic along landslide-prone road sections from Helgeland up to Bodø.
– We have received reports of several motorists trying to drive through the landslide. This appears to be very dangerous as we cannot rule out the possibility of more landslides, the police in Nordland told VG. The police are asking motorists to turn around.
– As the situation appears to us right now, all traffic is advised against landslide-prone road sections in Helgeland and in Sør-Salten up to Bodø, Nordland Police District writes on Twitter.
An orange danger warning has been issued for the risk of landslides, mudslides and flash floods for parts of Nordland.
The police write that the following sections are closed:
- Fylkesvei 17 Nordland is closed at Breivika in Rødøy and at Glombergan in Meløy due to an ice slide.
- The E6 is closed at the Berrflog tunnel in Sørfold.
- E6 at Saltfjellet is closed due to storms
Nordlandsbanen is closed on Wednesday morning between Fauske and Oleråga due to landslides.
There will be a new assessment at 07:00. Chains are recommended for heavier vehicles up, down and over the mountain, reports the Norwegian Public Roads Administration
