The residents of the capital have increased attendance at vaccination centers a few hours after the expiration of the deadline granted by the Health authorities for the population to have the three doses of the coronavirus vaccine to be able to enter public places and service centers.
During a visit by Listín Diario to the vaccination establishment located in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, it was observed that the flow of those interested in being inoculated has increased considerably, compared to previous days, when the place seemed almost deserted.
Long lines of people who came to the vaccination center from the early hours of the morning in search of a vaccine was what reigned at mid-morning this Saturday.
“I wanted to see those seats so full,” were the words that Héctor Cruz proudly expressed, who has been in that vaccination center since he was authorized to do so as the person in charge of the security of the place.
The scenario was repeated in the center located in Downtown Center, where by 10:40 they had inoculated 120 people, a figure that Dr. Mota, in charge of the place, says exceeds “three times the vaccination in past weeks.”
While in Megacentro, in Santo Domingo Este, the flow is even greater, where this morning some 300 people had already been vaccinated with the third dose at the post installed there.
“You know that the Dominican leaves everything for last and today in particular the flow has been surprising compared to the previous days,” said Maritza, the patient on duty. The vaccine that is being applied there is the Phizer.
Dr. Dellerina, in charge of this vaccination post, explained to LISTÍN DIARIO reporters that the staff has been “short” today, due to the number of people who have come to the scene.
The personnel in charge of these vaccination centers coincide in justifying that the flow of people is due to the measure imposed by the Ministry of Public Health, which requires that by January 31 people must have all three doses applied.
