At around 9:50 p.m., the emergency services left for the location. According to duty officer Marion van den Hurk, the fire started in the extension of the detached house, a stable that was being renovated. That is why this part of the house has no roof.

The fire brigade scaled up in a short time because the fire could possibly jump to the house to which the extension belongs. Three vehicles were used to extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control around 10:45 p.m. and the first vehicle was preparing to leave again.

The resident said that the fire brigade was present quickly, “Then the damage might not be that bad.”

Post-extinguishing insulation material

There were no casualties and no animals were involved in the fire. The fire service also checked for asbestos and that too was not found. However, the insulation material still had to be extinguished.

The Salvage Foundation for ‘first aid after fire’ was called upon to support the residents. The fire brigade called on bystanders not to look at the location and especially to give the emergency services space.

It is not known exactly how the fire started.
