Libreville, Thursday 1is February 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The Head of State, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, yesterday received the certificate of ownership of the shares held by the Gabonese public authorities within this group.
The President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, received yesterday from the hands of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ceca-Gadis group, Michel Essonghe, the ownership report of the shares held by the State within this group specialized in mass distribution. “Through this process, the State will gradually reduce our country’s food dependence, promote local products and create sustainable jobs. In addition to the acquisition of shares in the Ceca-Gadis group, the highest authorities intend to acquire shares in other large-scale structures and redeploy them in the service of the Republic in order to boost the development of our economy », Underlines a press release from the Gabonese presidency.
This acquisition demonstrates the desire of the Gabonese number one to establish equity in the country’s economy. “Administered by the Caisse de dépôt et consignations (CDC), this acquisition of 35% of shares in the capital of the Ceca-Gadis group by the State testifies to the desire of the President of the Republic to establish a certain equity in the national economy,” the document states. According to the Gabonese presidency, it is a question of “consolidating the leading position of the group by exploiting its territorial network, and of strengthening the local implementation of certain public policies in the agricultural field in this case.
