The public gathered early Saturday morning for the Airborne Landings and Commemoration. 80 years ago Operation Market Garden was carried out.

100,000 visitors are expected. The municipality of Ede called on people to take their bikes. “There are many fences to park your bike. The fences are numbered so you can find your bike again.”

For people who do not have their bike nearby, there are free shuttle buses from Ede-Wageningen station. The buses run from 07:30 to 16:30 between the Ginkelse Heide and the station.

The crowds are everywhere. At Ede-Wageningen station it was completely jammed with cars this morning. There was also a waiting time of 30 minutes for the shuttle buses.

The municipality reports that all parking spaces are full at the Ginkelse Heide. The N224 from Arnhem is closed. But there are also masses of bicycles on the cycle paths and traffic jams on the heath.

There is a service between 9am and 4pm plan in the air and on the ground.
