Laptop smoke forces evacuation of plane at New York airport

NEW YORK (AP) — Rescuers evacuated a JetBlue flight from New York’s JFK International Airport following a laptop emitting smoke on an airplane Saturday night, officials said.

The crew of JetBlue Flight 662 reported that the computer was smoking in the cabin after landing on a flight from Barbados around 8 p.m., WABC-TV reported.

There were 167 people on the plane who were evacuated using an emergency slide. Five people were slightly injured, officials said.
