LaporCovid Criticizes Public Service Vaccinations Exceeding Healthcare Workers

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

LaporCovid-19 platform initiator Irma Hidayana criticized the government’s move to inject more vaccine corona virus to public service officers rather than health workers. According to him, there are still many nakes who have not been vaccinated.

Referring to the Situation Report from the World Health Organization (WHO), Irma said there were still many health workers in the provinces of Aceh, Papua, South Sulawesi, and Maluku who had not received vaccinations.

“The WHO situation report issued at the end of June, these provinces have a number of health workers who have not been vaccinated. We can see, Aceh, Papua, South Sulawesi, there are many health workers who have not been vaccinated,” said Irma in a webinar, Monday (5/7) .

Irma also questioned why the government ignored this. In fact, according to Irma, the health workers are the front line in dealing with the pandemic that has been going on since March 2020

If you refer to the Ministry of Health’s data, the health workers’ vaccination target for the first dose has exceeded the target. Of the 1,468,764 health workers’ vaccination targets, 1,560,169 have received the first dose.

Then, the number of health workers who have received the second dose has reached 1,419,772 people or about 96.66 percent.

Regarding the vaccination of public service officers, the government is targeting more, namely 17,327,167 people.

Of these targets, as many as 95.25 percent or around 16,504,174 have received the first dose. A total of 47.53 percent or 8,235,518 have received the second dose of vaccination.

With such conditions, Irma also questioned the reason for the government to be more diligent in giving vaccines to public service officers. Moreover, the category of public officers also includes celebrities to creative workers.

“Because what public officers mean is various. There are traders, celebrities, Youtubers, creative workers, and so on,” said Irma.

“Why are those who are not a priority group, not a vulnerable group for infection, get the vaccine first? This clearly denies and violates the vaccine equity principle,” he added.
