Laos Players Value the Indonesian National Team at the Cambodian Level

Laos’ Kydavone Souvanny equalizes the power Indonesian National team with Cambodia in Group B competition map AFF Cup 2020 (AFF Cup 2021).

According to him, the quality of the Indonesian Cambodian national team is at a lower level than Vietnam and Malaysia.

In this year’s AFF Cup, Laos is in Group B with Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia.

Laos will play their inaugural AFF Cup match against defending champion Vietnam, Monday (6/12) evening WIB. Kydavone Souvanny also admitted that Vietnam is the strongest opponent that Laos will face in this year’s AFF Cup.

Meanwhile, Laos coach Vengadasalam Selvaraj also said Laos was unlucky to have to face defending champions Vietnam in the first match of the AFF Cup.

“Facing Vietnam in the first game is a tough task and the players know that. We will do our best and give everything we have,” said Selvaraj.

Laos have played in the AFF Cup 11 times but have never made it past the group stage. In the 2018 AFF Cup, Laos has always lost four matches in the preliminary round.

Meanwhile, in this year’s AFF Cup, Laos will field many young players. Laos will also rely on striker of French descent, Billy Ketkeophomphone.
