The spokesman for the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, affirmed this Thursday that the different levels of alert that are in force in the different islands will be maintained, although he has indicated that the situation in Tenerife is of particular concern.
This has been revealed during the press conference after the Governing Council, where he added that the general data of the autonomous community continue to be “reasonably positive” but that the Executive expects improvements. “We cannot say that it is the situation that we are going to settle for,” he said.
For his part, he pointed out that there is a concern regarding Tenerife because the infections are widespread, unlike the other island with high infections, Lanzarote, where the cases come from a single focus.
Pérez has especially emphasized that, in general, the numbers of infections are “good” with a cumulative incidence (AI) at seven days in about 40.12 cases.
