Lank Vilaverdense reacted this Monday morning to the attacks on Farense fans in the vicinity of the Cruz do Reguengo Municipal Stadium, after the triumph of the Minho team in the reception to the Algarve, for the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup (3- two).
«In view of the events that occurred in the vicinity of the Cruz do Reguengo Stadium after the game of the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup, which pitted Lank FC Vilaverdense and SC Farense and after learning of the barbaric attacks on fans of the visiting club, Lank FC Vilaverdense informs that it vehemently repudiates these acts and regrets that ‘disagreements’ between supporters of Primeira Liga clubs, to which our club is completely unrelated, have been brought to Vila Verde», it can be read.
It is recalled that Farense had also guaranteed that the attacks “were in no way related to the game played nor to the fans of Lank FC Vilaverdense”.
«The attackers were identified at the scene by the attacked fans, who informed the SC Farense directors of the context of this violent act. Lank FC Vilaverdense is available to provide any clarification, as well as to assist the authorities with anything necessary. We also wish all SC Farense fans a speedy recovery, deeply regretting what happened», concludes the Vila Verde emblem.
