Almost every second Briton who has used large language models considers his answers correct, and some use it at work.
What is known
Consulting giant Deloitte surveyed 4,150 UK residents aged 16 to 75 as part of the local Digital Consumer Trends 2023 edition to get an idea of the perception of language models and the degree of their commercial use.
About 52% of respondents have heard of this technology, 26% have used it, with 43% of them “erroneously” believing “that it always gives factually accurate answers.”
30% of respondents have tried language models once or twice, 28% use them weekly, 9% once a day and 8% at work.
According to Deloitte, employees are aware of the possibility of using technology at work, but only 23% of them said they received permission to do so.
