163 different nationalities reside in the provincial capital of Graz. According to conservative estimates, this means that at least 150 different languages are spoken in Graz. This diversity should not be seen primarily as a barrier or a problem, but rather as a cultural and economic potential
The Language Network Graz, an association of educational and administrative institutions around the Council of Europe’s European Center for Foreign Languages, has set itself the task of making this diversity accessible to the people of Graz. Therefore, together with numerous other partners, we invite you again this year to the great language festival in Graz on the occasion of the European Day of Languages.
Throughout the day, visitors can immerse themselves in the colorful world of languages at numerous activity stands, a beachfront language bar with a holiday atmosphere, an exciting and diverse workshop program and extensive cultural program, and learn about the cultural diversity of the city.
