Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – After the resolutions for a tougher lockdown by the end of January, the state parliament in Stuttgart wants to discuss the new corona measures today (10:00 a.m.) in a special meeting. The main focus will be on how things will proceed in schools and whether there should be generous exceptions to the contact restrictions for families with smaller children.
The federal and state governments agreed on further significant restrictions on public life on Tuesday due to the corona pandemic. The aim of the measures is to avoid contact between people and thus avoid infection with the coronavirus.
In several important points, however, the country wants to deviate from the strict requirements as far as possible in favor of small children and schoolchildren. For most students, the extended lockdown means that in January there will only be distance learning instead of face-to-face teaching. However, daycare centers and primary schools are to be reopened on January 18, when the number of infections has continued to decrease significantly.
In addition, there should be exceptions for children to the actually tightened contact restrictions. The federal and state governments had decided that private meetings should only be possible with someone who does not belong to their own household. The country now wants to make it possible for two families to get together for childcare. In addition, mothers or fathers should be allowed to accompany their children to meetings with another child.
