(PLO) – Le Pass collapsed, rocks and soil from the slopes fell onto the road, causing traffic on route DT611 to be cut off.
On the evening of October 13, the head of the Department of Transport of Quang Nam province said that the Le Pass area (connecting the two districts of Que Son and Nong Son) collapsed, and traffic on DT611 route was cut off.
The landslide occurred on the evening of the same day, at Km24+560, line DT611. Soil and rocks from the slopes fell down, blocking the road, causing traffic to be cut off. Due to heavy rain, recovery work has not yet been carried out.
According to the leader of the Quang Nam Department of Transport, the maintenance unit has set up warning wires and arranged forces to be on duty near the landslide point. It is expected that the repair work will begin tomorrow morning.
In recent days, the province has had rain, the common rainfall (in a day) is 15-60mm, in some places it exceeds 100mm.
According to forecasts, from October 13 to 17, localities in the province will continue to have moderate, heavy, to very heavy rain; risk of floods and flash floods in rivers and streams in mountainous areas, landslides in slopes, small rivers and streams; causing flooding in low-lying areas and densely populated areas.
According to the Quang Nam Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, on the afternoon of October 13, the water level on the Vu Gia – Thu Bon and Tam Ky rivers is changing slowly and is below alert level 1 (BD1).
Warning from tonight until October 17, rivers in Quang Nam province are likely to experience a flood.
During this flood, the flood amplitude upstream reached 3.0-5.0m, downstream reached 0.5-2.0m. The flood peak on Vu Gia rivers is at level 1 to above level 1, Thu Bon is at level below level 1 to level 1, Tam Ky is at level below level 1.
There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in the districts of Dong Giang, Tay Giang, Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Phuoc Son, Hiep Duc, Nong Son, Hoi An City.
