Landscape in picture and sound: Film about border area had its premiere

The overall work of art made up of beautiful texts, music specially composed for the film and breathtaking landscape shots on both sides of the national border inspired those present. From Dešná in the south-eastern part of the Czech district of Jindřichův Hradec, through the Česká Canada nature park, to the northern Waldviertel, the area around Weitra and finally to the Novohradské hory mountains, this film shows impressive footage.

After the film screening, Eisgarn’s Mayor Günter Schalko emphasized the beauty of the landscape and the importance of preserving it. Petr Pokovba, responsible for the screenplay, music and direction, thanked his team – consisting of Christian Pfabigan, Ondřej Pumpr, Petr Miloš (camera), Veronika Khek Kubařová and Gregor Schweitzer (narrator) – and especially the numerous supporters, who made the project possible in the first place: the small region of Waldviertel Nord, as well as the municipalities of Dešná, Nová Bystřice, Staňkov, Rapšach, Jindřichův Hradec and Nové Hrady.

“Ein Land, Eine Heimat” is the second in a film trilogy, and the last film in the series is scheduled to be presented at the end of the year. As early as June, Pokovba and Pfabigan are presenting their next joint project, “Stories from the Borderland” at the Truckerhaus in Gutenbrunn (Zwettl district).
