Jakarta –
The Indonesian Pentecostal Church in Sungai Bahar, Muaro Jambi, Jambi, and the land owners were brought together in mediation by the Sungai Bahar District. Mediation is still deadlocked because the land owner does not want to sell part of the land to access the church road.
“Thank God the mediation was attended by both parties, there were also members of the Muaro Jambi DPRD. But the results of the mediation are that the majority of land owners do not allow (part of the land) to be sold,” said Sungai Bahar sub-district head, Agus Riyadi, as reported by Antara. detikSumbangselSunday (30/7/2023).
During the mediation, Agus admitted, since the beginning of the incident, there had been inappropriate communication between the land owner and the church, which had caused disagreements. However, he hopes that the land owners will be kind enough to provide proper road access solutions for church residents.
“Yes, hopefully after this the land owners will be able to open their hearts regarding the road access earlier,” said Agus.
Agus added that his party cannot force landowners to open access roads or dismantle walls. This is because the land is privately owned.
“Indeed, the issue of land permits belongs to the land owner, right, if they don’t want to sell, then yes How?” he continued.
