Uruguay’s President, Luis Alberto La Cagli Po, has announced that his country will close the borders with Argentina by land, sea and air, starting on Tuesday, due to the Coruna virus.
La Calebo Bou told reporters that he discussed this decision with the Argentine government, according to Bloomberg News.
He added that Uruguay citizens and foreigners staying in it would be allowed to enter from Argentina.
He made clear that trade and humanitarian aid activities would be excluded from closing the borders.
He said that his country has 29 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
