Land Rover introduced the new generation Defender in 2019 after the “original” model was discontinued in 2016. Now the British company is practically bringing the SUV back to the assembly line after introducing a special version called the Works V8 Trophy II. As the name suggests, this is the second version of this series, after Land Rover revived the legendary SUV last year.
The special Defenders will be built on cars built between 2012 and 2016, with each example completely disassembled, restored and hand-assembled with some upgrades. Customers will be able to choose between 3 different body styles, the 90, 110 and 110 Double Cab Pick-Up respectively.
The British company plans to make 25 such cars, and each of them will be wrapped in a special camouflage film. Jeeps also get 18-inch wheels, off-road tires, tubular construction around the speakers and roof, LED lights, bullbar and winch.
The interior has been completely redone with leather elements, with Recaro sports seats, a new shifter for the eight-speed automatic transmission, and an all-new infotainment system.
The engine is the well-known naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, which generates 405 horsepower and a maximum torque of 515 newton meters. They are, of course, transmitted to all four wheels, and from Land Rover Classics they installed a new suspension and brakes.
