President Joko Widodo said the reason for the stalled Sodetan Ciliwung project in East Jakarta was the issue of land acquisition that had not been carried out by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta. Responding to this, the Bacapres Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan assessing each development process takes time.
“Everything of the nature of development will definitely take time,” said Anies at his residence in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, Tuesday (1/8/2023). Anies answered questions regarding the causes of the delays in the Sodetan Ciliwung project during the Anies era.
Even so, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta 2017/2022 was grateful that the Ciliwung Sodetan project could be completed. According to him, each leadership phase will have a project that can be completed.

“I express my gratitude, thank God that the sodetan project, which is building a large tunnel from Ciliwung to the East Flood Canal (KBT), has been completed,” he said.
“In each phase of leadership there is a portion of work that is completed, in each phase,” he continued.
Previously, Jokowi revealed the reasons for the stalled Sodetan Ciliwung project in East Jakarta which he inaugurated. Jokowi said the cause was the issue of land acquisition.
Jokowi said that at that time the drilling activities for the Ciliwung Sodetan project had to be stopped because the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had not resolved the land acquisition issue. For information, the project was stalled for 6 years before finally being resumed by Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
“Land acquisition. Because this work really depends on land work. So at that time the drilling activities stopped because the land acquisition was not completed by the DKI Provincial Government,” Jokowi said after inaugurating the Ciliwung Sodetan in the Bidara Cina area, East Jakarta, Monday (31/7) .
Jokowi said the completion of the Ciliwung Sodetan project was due to the cooperation between the central government and local governments. This project took a total of 11 years until it was finally inaugurated.
“Now it’s finished and finished. Therefore, I say this work is in collaboration with the PUPR Ministry and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government,” he said.
