The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, one of the most prestigious vintage car events in the world, was held the weekend just ended. The model that won the Gold Cup this year is a wonderful one Lancia Dilambda Series I 227 from 1930, a unique jewel.

The car has been restored and modified several times, until it was purchased in 2018 by the Italian Filippo Sole. And after these profound interventions, the Lancia Dilambda that won the Gold Cup reached ‘its best shape’ precisely to be able to parade on the shores of Lake Como, in Cernobbio.
Filippo Sole told ANSA: “I took part in the competition for the first time almost for fun a couple of years ago and I fell in love with this event. This time, however, I wanted to present a truly unique car. Also on the advice of my wife, I decided to restore the Lancia Dilambda. It was a team effort, and I have to thank all the guys who have done their utmost in this long year, each in their own sector, to make the car truly return to its original splendor. This award is especially for them ”.

The Coppa d’Oro was awarded to this historic and unique Lancia, voted for by the audience present; instead the main prize Best of Show, which is awarded every year by the Jury of the Competition, for the 2021 edition was won by the American Brian Ross with his fantastic Ferrari 250 GT TDF Coupé PininFarina from 1956. The special edition of Concours d’Elegance Villa d’Este, sponsored by BMW Classic, this year saw the parade of 50 exceptional and precious vintage cars, belonging to 8 different decades, which were able to communicate to the public all the most evocative interpretations of the history of the automobile.
