Today, Lancia sells a single model, exclusively in its home Italy. However, he confirms that he expects to expand the offer and re-enter the markets outside the Apennine Peninsula.

Thanks to the establishment of the Stellantis Group, the Lancia brand is to experience a renewed renaissance. The management of the group resulting from the merger of the PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles believes in the potential of this Italian brand and expects it to develop. Lancia thus gradually reveals what it is preparing for the coming years.
It has previously been revealed that Lancia will change its focus. He will return to the roots and again occupies the post of a premium brand – develops its new cars in collaboration with DS and Alfa Romeo. He is to distinguish himself from them with “Italian elegance” and advanced technology, in the style of his former innovation. If today’s Ypsilon is still one of the most sought-after cars in Italy (also due to the absence of Fiat in the small hatchback segment), Lancia will no longer have such ambitions in the future. He also wants to target a slightly different clientele, today’s Ypsilon appeals to women a lot, but the brand ‘s novelties are again to attract men to a large extent. At the same time, the average age of the clientele should increase. According to the management, it should be similar to Tesla, Mercedes or Volvo.

Luca Napolitano, CEO of the brand, has previously confirmed that Lancia will once again expand its portfolio as part of its renaissance to reach a wider clientele. Specifically, three models are envisaged, at least within the current strategy.
The replacement for today’s Ypsilon hatchback will be the first to arrive in 2024. The novelty will probably retain the name of its predecessor, but there is talk of a transformation into a small crossover, in the spirit of today’s fashion trends and customer interest. The car will also be offered in the form of an electric car, but the purely electric version will also complement the variants with an internal combustion engine, but most likely exclusively with a mildhybrid drive.
In 2026, a crossover with a length of 4.6 meters is to arrive. It has recently been referred to as the modern Delta, however, there is now speculation that this novelty will revive another historical name, Lancia. Her name is Aurelia, as a tribute to the post-war model of the same name, the first road car with a six-cylinder fork. However, the modern Aurelia is to bet on purely electric propulsion, as it is from 2026 that Lancia intends to introduce cars exclusively with electric propulsion.

According to current information, the new Lancia Delta will not arrive until 2028. It is supposed to be an unspecified lower-middle-class car, but it will probably also use crossover elements, according to current trends. As in the case of Aurelia, it will also be a battery electric car.
The three models over the next seven years may seem small, but they are a realistic plan to help revive a once-famous brand. In addition, Lancia must focus on returning to markets where it has operated in the past. In 2017, however, she gradually withdrew only to her home Italy, where she was already selling most of her cars.
Currently, development is expected exclusively within Europe. Specifically, Napolitano speaks of a gradual expansion in several waves, among the first to be seen again in Germany, France, Spain, Austria and Belgium. The United Kingdom and other markets are to follow.
With the re-expansion of the sales network, modern business trends are to help Lancia. The brand no longer counts on classic sellers. Cars are to be sold directly through the carmaker, largely online. However, a person will be available to help them with the purchase process, offer a test drive and, for example, arrange regular service later. In large European cities, only small showrooms with an area of no more than 140 m are to be built2.
