Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, one of the five Indian army soldiers who were killed in a terrorist attack in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, has made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, following in his father’s footsteps. Kulwant’s father died during the Kargil conflict in 1999, and 11 years later Kulwant joined the army. He left behind a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and a three-month-old son in Punjab’s Moga. The local village leader has called on the Indian government to help support Kulwant’s family since he was the only bread-winner. In response to the attack, the army has launched a major operation to catch the terrorists responsible.
Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, who lost his life in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, was the son of a Kargil war martyr. He leaves behind two young children.
